Exhibition held at Identity-UK, 11a Kingland Road, London E2
SALON is an exhibition of recent painting by 10 young artists who
live, work or have studied in London. Each of the painters were selected
because their work displayed, amongst other criteria, evidence of
a re-conceptualisation in painting, thus allowing the medium to remain
a vital, vibrant and original force for the new Millenium and beyond.
The 10 artists in SALON also represented a shortlist for a new art
prize:
The Centre of Attention Painting Prize
More than 300 visitors cast a vote, as well as numerous Internet voters.
At an award ceremony on 13th January 2001, Josie McCoy having
received the most votes, was presented with the Centre of Attention
Painting Prize 2001.
Luke Caulfield and Claire Heathcote also received a
commendation.
We thank Identity-UK
for their support.
