Mount Stuart, on the Isle of Bute, is Britain’s most astounding neo-Gothic Victorian mansion, set in some of the most idyllic coastal landscape you could imagine.
On site, the Centre of Attention will be performing Action Diana, with members of the public playing the parts in this reconstruction of an astounding British film.
Action Diana has a story, but the artists’ atomisation of it creates a myriad of art quotations, a document of early 21st Century gallery visitors, and a double helix of narrative.
Action Diana combines fine art, film, performance, documentary and story-telling in what the Centre of Attention calls a 'hot installation'. Mount Stuart becomes a set and a production-meeting venue offering visitors the opportunity to see the artists at work and to have a cameo appearance in a film.
For Action Diana, Mount Stuart will play the parts of an Italian Palazzo, a village church, the Capri coast, the Thames at Chiswick and a flower shop. Will you play your part?
A project in collaboration with Sophie Crichton-Stuart and the Mount Stuart Trust.
