"Oneliner" stems from my fascination with the piles of binliners in my street on the day the dustbin men come. The heaps of bulbous shapes remind me of mini ephemeral landscapes created artificially in the city and have echoes of some of my earlier work, which captured huge mounds of snow left behind on the streets of Rekjavik in the Spring thaw. In this piece some of the garbage is "trying to escape" floating above the other bags, which will soon be recycled back into the landscape through landfills. Like shabby party balloons they rise up from the dead static forms below destined for burial or cremation and are resurrected.
