John Rogers is an artist whose work changes all the time. At the minute he is working in live art.
'Stare' is a piece that was originally funded by the Impressions Gallery, York and Yorkshire Arts, but has since been exhibited at The Custard Factory in Birmingham. it is now performed at the Centre of Attention in London.
"It's an experiential piece, which means most of the things that could be written about it would probably miss the point - you have to be there for it to function. It involves maintaining eye contact for unnaturally long periods (2 minutes per person). It isn't a competition, and it's okay to blink and laugh. This piece isn't there to be looked at and consumed - it looks back and consumes you in return." John Rogers
